It is always interesting to hear what people have to say about their city. In Barcelona I interviewed Nick Musgrave, an englishman who moved from London to pursue photography splat-photo.com and Pilar de la Pena Sanchez, who believes the streets of Barcelona act out like a movie. Oh sure, we (spaniards) are so much racist, and we kill bulls all the day. Now I gonna dress myself with pink clothes and eat some paella.
this is ridiculous, this girl is stupid believe me. I was born and Barcelona and ran away of it for several reasons like she mentioned: (picked-pockets) hahaha PICKPOCKETS, muggers, bad atmosphere even in front of your house as she said, thing that seems she likes, to be surrounded by these shitty people who should be deleted from the world. There’re some good things about Barcelona like the weather and sports, but believe me the same with a lot of ”awesome cities in the world” full of crap
@convicte I could interview 100 people, and each video would be different. Pilar lived in a tough neighbourhood, for her, the action on the street was fascinating. When I return to Barcelona, love to catch up for a drink, and see your vision of Barcelona. Thanks for your comment
Finally, the person you chose as a guide seems to only have eyes for prostitutes and pick-pockets (which there are in some areas) when there are so many great things to talk about Barcelona!. Next time, if you want to be faithful to the truth, find someone who knows the city well.
In conclusion, your depiction of Barcelona is completely inaccurate and shouldn’t be used by anyone interested in visiting the city. Next time you come, let me know and i’ll show you what Barcelona really is!
No reference to Gaudí (the famous Catalan architect responsible for “La Sagrada Familia” among many other emblematic constructions in the city) either, although in the video there is a quick view of Parc Güell.
You also missed to mention the Mediterranean diet, which has recently been added to the list of the Immaterial Patrimony of the UNESCO.
This video is totally deceiving. As someone who was born and still lives in Barcelona, I feel the responsibility to tell people how far away the image of Barcelona given in this video is from reality.
First off, you got it totally wrong with the song. This song makes you think about any place in Spain but Barcelona (and Catalonia in general).
Also, I have not heard any mention to the local language: Catalan (which is spoken by more than 8 million people, most of which in Catalonia).

If the people living in the city weren’t so damn patriotic and nationalistic, than I would consider living there.
